Join Journey of Life Lutheran Church for a festive and delicious Easter celebration featuring upbeat music, an encouraging message, a full Easter brunch featuring a made-to-order omelet bar, a chocolate fountain, and an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. (FYI, our lead cook is a professionally trained and licensed chef.)

PLEASE NOTE: You are welcome to attend the worship service without attending the brunch. They are two separate events, back-to-back on Easter Sunday. However, when you smell the food, you will wish you had made reservations for the brunch, too!

The worship service is at 10am on April 12, 2009 at the Northlake Park Elementary School/Lake Nona YMCA cafeteria. Brunch following the service. There is no cost to attend the brunch. However, the net proceeds of the brunch will go to support a verified Orlando ministry to those in need. We encourage you to think of how much you might pay for a nice brunch that includes made-to-order omelets and use that as a guide for your donation.

However, as with every event at Journey of LIfe, we will not allow money to be an obstacle to attendance. If the ticket price presents a financial hardship for you, please simply register for the event without making a donation. We would be pleased to have you as our guest!

Reservations are required for the brunch. Space is limited, so reserve your spot now.

Two simple steps to reserve you place at the Brunch:

First, reserve your place:
CLICK HERE to make your reservations for the Easter 2010 Brunch.

Then make your donation:

An exciting new message series began on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Journey of Life: Nine Things You Simply Must Do To Succeed in Love and Life. This message series is guided by the Bible and a book by Dr. Henry Cloud also called, coincidentally, "Nine Things You Simply Must Do to Succeed in Love and Life."
.
Why would you want to make it a priority to be there for this message series? Some (or most) parts of your life just don't seem to be working well right now. You are dissatisfied and want to get things straightened out. This series will help you look at your life through new lenses that bring God's design and wisdom into the areas of your life that aren't working. You are the kind of person who is looking for personal growth in living a wise and fruitful life. This series will be a great overview of God's design and wisdom for leading a successful life. You want to be a positive influence in the lives of others. This series will provide you with a simple and clear set of principles that will empower you to be a positive influence when others seek your counsel.

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod is working to respond to the 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Haiti. Early reports indicate extensive property damage and terrible suffering among people trapped in collapsed buildings in a country already challenged by longtime political strife and poverty. Haiti is widely known as the poorest country in the western hemisphere."The unfolding drama in Haiti calls for unlimited mercy on the part of the people of the LCMS. The needs are urgent and overwhelming right now," said Glenn F. Merritt, LCMS World Relief and Human Care director of disaster response. "I appeal to God's people to respond as generously as possible during this most difficult time."

LCMS WR-HC is working cooperatively with Lutheran World Relief, LCMS World Mission, Haitian missionaries, partner churches, and the LCMS Florida-Georgia District to provide relief in a timely fashion. Funds are urgently needed to help Haitians who have lost loved ones and homes.

We chose the name, "Journey of Life," because we believe that every person's life is a spiritual journey. Every one of us on the journey needs a community of love, acceptance and encouragement to grow into the person we are meant to be. Journey of Life strives to be just such a community.

Every person is welcome at Journey of Life, regardless of his or her beliefs or spiritual background. As a church for people on the spiritual journey of life, we are committed to being a place where people can:
be themselves; make some real friends in this community;learn and live profound spiritual truths in very practical ways; andhave a really great time. (We wouldn't be introducing Journey of Life to you completely if we didn't tell you that we laugh quite a bit!) Click on "Family Resources" to the left to reach "Ready, Click, Grow!" You will find ideas and resources for keeping your family growing together and passing on your faith to the children around you, whether you are single, married without children, married with young children, married with older children, empty-nesters, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles... you get the idea. Journey of Life is about people, community, love and the wonderful life we have found as followers of Jesus Christ. At this point, may be wondering... Do I belong at Journey of Life?Who is Jesus and what's the big deal about him? What is "Lutheran"?

While everyone is responsible for outreach, some are called to full- or part-time missionary work as a major commitment of the time given them on earth: some to the front lines, some to organizing outreach efforts, some to the administrative support required for worldwide missionary efforts. One these missionary pages you will find missionaries that give significant amounts of time and energy to the task of worldwide ministry in Jesus' name. Some are on a volunteer basis. Some have dedicated their lives. The ones who have answered the call to full-time ministry in Jesus name offer you and excellent opportunity to excersize the spiritual gift of giving. Some of them receive monthly support from Journey of Life, but not near enough to cover their living expenses. Browse through the missionaries below and consider becoming a monthly financial and prayer partner with one or more of the missionaries and ministers who depend on the faithful giving of others to continue their ministry (as indicated by the words 'faith-based support' following their name):Peggy Seitz (faith-based support)David & Ruth Snyder (faith-based support)Mike & Lee Anne Sorgius (faith-based support)SJ (faith-based support)Tom & Marilynn KempWayne & Grace Wilke

Peggy Seitz - Wycliffe Associates - Cameroon - Peggy Seitz

WHEN PEGGY SEITZ and her team set out the large plastic owl, they didn't think anything of it. They were leading a Vacation Bible School program for missionary children in Cameroon, and each day featured a different animal as the mascot. It was Owl Day. However, it wasn't long before Peggy learned of her team's innocent mistake: Many of the villagers believe owls are vampires and have a deep fear of the animal. "At first I thought it was kind of funny," Peggy said. "But then I realized that this was an example of how people without God in their lives live in fear. These people need the Lord."

Since 2006, Peggy has been committed to helping people like these discover God's peace-men, women, and children who have never read the Bible in their own language because it doesn't exist. Initially, she volunteered with Wycliffe Associates to help provide much-needed support for Bible translators abroad. But she eventually came aboard as our International Jobs Coordinator, working to organize job opportunities around the world for volunteers who want to help accelerate Bible translation. Peggy's breadth of experience (she has an accounting degree and an elementary teaching certificate) has made her a wonderful asset to the Wycliffe Associates ministry.

Peggy's mission goal is to relocate to Cameroon, where she will take on a new position as the Volunteer Center Manager, hosting and assisting teams of volunteers arriving to support Bible translators in the region. In a recent ranking of countries with the greatest need for Bible translation, Cameroon was number seven on the list. The African country is home to 89 language groups that are still without the Scriptures in their own language. The volunteers Peggy will be managing in her new role will provide vital support to translators working on Bible translations in 50 of these languages.

Peggy looks forward to any opportunity to share with others how hearts and lives are being transformed around the world as the Scriptures are translated. And how God is using Wycliffe Associates volunteers-unique individuals with a variety of skills and backgrounds-to help bring the tools local translators need to introduce their people to Christ.

Online donations are convenient and easy to track. While Journey of Life does not encourage people to take on debt in order to donate to the Lord's work here, we recognize that many people use their bank cards and credit cards as financial management tools. So we offer this option.
PLEASE NOTE: Our donations are processed by PayPal, but you do NOT need a PayPal account to use PayPal's processing service. Clicking the donate button will take you to the secure PayPal site. At the end of the transaction, you will be returned to the Journey of Life site. We use PayPal for several reasons. They have low transaction fees. There is no monthly maintenance fee (most services charge a base rate of $15-$25 per month). They are very large and therefore devote significant corporate resources to security.

Coming This Fall - The Truth Project - Truth Project

Beginning Sunday, September 14, 2008 and continuing for 12 weeks, we will explore our worldview. We all look at the world through a "lens" that includes our experiences, our emotions, things we've learned, and more. We often don't take the time to examine the lens through which we view the world. This fall we will with The Truth Project.

For those who really want a chance to dig into our worldview, we will also be offering small groups built around Truth Project videos. These groups will meet in homes around Southeast Orlando and will give you a chance to chew on what you are learning and hear other people's reactions. Use the 'send email' link to the right to request more information.

  Everyone is welcome.
